Haywood is a fantastic little guy with a big heart. He can be a bit timid at first, but once he feels safe, he warms up quickly and becomes a devoted little shadow. He loves being near his person and happily follow you from room to room.
He's doing wonderfully with crate training - he'll even go in on his own now with just a gentle cue. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He has marked in the house a couple of times, so he currently wears a belly bank, though he doesn't need it while crated. Aside from those early moments, he's had no accidents indoors.
The yard is still a bit overwhelming for him, so he tends to stay close to the house and prefers to potty on the patio or deck unless someone walks out into the yard with him. With a little more confidence, he'll likely expand his comfort zone.
Haywood gets along beautifully with the other dogs in his foster home - both those his size and one much larger. He'll give a quick alert bark when someone comes in, but he settles down right away. He loves a good snuggle on the couch and is starting to show more of his playful, bouncy side as he relaxes.
