Meet Barkley!
Barkley is a happy-go-lucky, incredibly sweet dog who loves everyone he meets - people, dogs and even cats. He really wants to play with the cates, though they don't always share his enthusiasm, so he's learned to take their disinterest in stride.
Barkley is great about letting you know when he needs to go outside. He'll go to the door on his own, and if you ask him whether he wants to go out, he'll happily trot over. Sometimes he just wants to step out and come right back in, but he communicates well and keeps you in the loop.
This boy loves to play - fetch, toys, you name it. He would thrive in a home with another playful dog who can match his energy. He's curious and can get into a little mischief if left to his own devices, so a watchful eye is helpful. Despite his playful streak, he's incredibly gentle and has shown no aggression. The only time he gets a bit pushy is when treats are involved - he may nudge another dog out of the way in his excitement.
At night, Barkley sleeps wonderfully in a crate as long as it's beside your bed. He'll also happily sleep in your bed and does great there too. During the day, the crate isn't his favorite place, but he will tolerate it when needed.
Barkley is a world-class cuddler. He loves snuggling with people and other dogs and enjoys being close to his humans.
