Director | Foster Coordinator
foster@blacktiebostonrescue.org
My name is Megan Davis, and I am the Director, Foster, and Intake Coordinator for Black Tie! My passion for rescue runs deep, and I’ve dedicated my life to helping Boston Terriers (and others!) in need, giving a voice to the ones who can’t speak for themselves. Every dog deserves love, safety, and a second chance, and I’m honored to play a role in making that happen.
Rescue isn’t just something I do, it’s who I am. My husband, our two kids, and I share our home with seven dogs and five cats, proving that the rescue spirit is alive and well in our family! Whether it’s finding the perfect forever home, rehabilitating a pup in need, or stepping in for urgent cases, I’m always ready to fight for the underdogs.
Assistant Director | Adoption Coordinator
adopt@blacktiebostonrescue.org
As Assistant Director, I oversee the application process and help our Director, Megan, with the other day-to-day aspects of running the rescue. As Adoption Coordinator, I oversee all aspects of getting a dog from available to their forever home. I grew up on a farm in Ohio and have always loved animals. I have owned at least one pet dog for as long as I can remember. My family and I moved to South Carolina in 2020 and became involved with BTBR. We now own 5 dogs (4 BTs and 1 Jack Chi), as well as 2 cats. Our animals are part of our family. It is a passion of mine to find displaced dogs a happy forever.
Data Administrator
stacey@blacktiebostonrescue.org
Hello! My name is Stacey Perkins. I volunteer by doing data administration and virtual home visits for potential adopters and fosters.
Pictured are my first 2 Bostons, Rudy and Moby. We currently have 3 dogs, Ziggy and Ernie (pug), both rescued through BTBR, and another Boston named Mr. Brady.
Medical Director
medical@blacktiebostonrescue.org
As Medical Director, Kali is in touch with all active foster parents related to any medical/vetting needs their foster dogs have. She communicates with all veterinary offices/clinics/hospitals to set up an account for the rescue, where possible, and negotiate rates. She sets appointments for visits/procedures as needed.
Rescue Resource
As Rescue Resource, Robin provides support to the rescue leaders, filling in wherever is needed to assist in the day-to-day functions of the rescue. The majority of her time is spent on overseeing the processing of applications, as well as training the volunteers that assist in that process.
Treasurer
donate@blacktiebostonrescue.org
Hi! My name is Peggy and I serve as Treasurer. This involves tracking all financial transactions and coordinating accounting functions for the rescue. I am mom to Rascal, my very first Boston, and Patrick, BTBR alum! My start in rescue was in transport, taking pups to their foster home or to their new furever. It's a great way to get involved without a long-term commitment. That led me to being a short-term foster. Then I met Patrick and became his foster. I soon failed and adopted him! I continue to serve as a foster and in transport.
Home Visit Coordinator
As Home Visit Coordinator, I am tasked with contacting applicants during the last step of their application processing to schedule a virtual home visit interview. I live in Simpsonville, SC with my husband and two Bostons, both BTBR rescues, Ollie and Bonnie. We got our first Boston in 2001 and fell in love with these amazing dogs. I love and support BTBR - they do amazing work. In my spare time, I love taking “puppy naps” and snuggling with my babies.

Personal Reference Checker
As one of the Personal Reference Checkers, I contact the personal references listed on all applications, as part of the approval process, to ensure the applicant is a good candidate for adoption, fostering, or volunteering. I am a proud parent of two BTBR pups, and have been a fan of these wonderful dogs for decades, loving to share all the wonderful, goofy things they do. In my "other life," I'm a realtor in sunny Jacksonville, FL, love cooking, eating, and the beach!

Transport Resource
I volunteer as Transport Rescource. This involves coordinating transport volunteers and logistics of moving dogs from surrender families to foster families, as well as from fosters to adoptive homes. I have been heavily involved in rescue work for the past 15 years, beginning when I started college at UNC Chapel Hill, so I have roots in the Raleigh-Durham rescue community. I am a therapist and clinical director for a therapy practice in the Asheville, NC area. During my spare time, I enjoy cuddling with my two rescue Boston Terriers, Scout and Sage, traveling, family time, and singing in a community choir.
Vet Reference Checker
I am Abbie Hale and I complete vet reference checks as part of the application approval process. This is to ensure applicants obtain proper medical care for their current and/or past pets. I also follow up with applicants when additional information is needed. I guess you could say that dogs are my passion. I have literally had dogs in my life since I was about 12 years old. I can't remember ever not having a dog. I was a vet tech for about 6 years and a certified dog training (which I do very little of anymore). For about the last 35 years, I rescued Dobermans and began rescuing Bostons about 5 years ago. I found Black Tie Boston Rescue and, oh my goodness, that was everything. My wife, Marilynn, and I have traveled to several states to pick up dogs for transport, have fostered a few, and adopted 3 of those. We now have 5 Bostons. We are avid RVers, so sometimes a foster gets to go RVing with us, as we take our pack with us in the RV for long-distance trips. This is how we love life to the fullest!
